Rethinking Modern Indian Art

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition "Bharat Ratna! Jewels of Modern Indian Art," examine key elements of India's visual culture, situating the paintings from the exhibition within the wider context of India's participation in a growing international visual culture. The lecture will be presented by Rebecca Brown, visiting associate professor of History of Art and Political Science at Johns Hopkins University. The lecture will be held at the MFA's Riley Seminar Room.
