    This double feature offers two takes on Miles Davis in performance focusing on two distinct periods of this jazz icon in settings that could not be more different. The first is an exemplary 1959 TV program with the Miles Davis Quintet featuring John Coltrane, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb, also including Davis with the Gil Evans Orchestra (25 min.) The second is a feature film capturing Davis’s landmark 1970 Isle of Wight festival performance before 600,000 people with Jack DeJohnette, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Gary Bartz, and Dave Holland, directed by Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker, Murray Lerner.
