June 1-June 2, 2010

A Library of Congress “Living Legend,” 90-years-young pianist Dave Brubeck proves jazz is the fountain of youth, as he performs with his quartet to orchestral arrangements of “In Your Own Sweet Way,” “A Salute to The Count – The Basie Band Is Back in Town,” “Unsquare Dance,” and “The Duke.” The program also features the fiftieth anniversary of the chart-topping “Take Five,” performed by The Dave Brubeck Quartet on their 1959 album Time Out, which remains one of the best known jazz standards ever.

"Great concert!"

I saw Dave Brubeck last night and had a great time! He can still play the piano like nobody can, and it was great to hear 'Blue Rondo a la Turk' from the composer himself. Also loved the sax player.
