    The Berklee Day Sessions is a unique program designed to allow middle school students, ages 12-14, the opportunity to experience all that Berklee College of Music has to offer in a flexible day session format. Students will have the opportunity to study at Berklee with Berklee faculty and students. The program is a four-week experience that allows students the flexibility to participate in one-, two-, three-, or four-week sessions that are specifically designed with the middle school musician in mind.

    * Week 1: July 6-9
    * Week 2: July 12-16
    * Week 3: July 19-23
    * Week 4: July 26-30

    Featuring small group lessons, music theory and ear-training sessions, ensembles, clinics by Berklee faculty and outside artists, jam sessions, and weekly performances, the Berklee Day Sessions are the perfect way to develop your performance skills, explore various musical styles, and learn from members of the Berklee community as well as from leaders in the music industry.

    Overview Classes will generally be conducted between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday during week one, and Monday through Friday thereafter. Classes will be taught by Berklee faculty and students majoring in music education. Day Sessions students will be guided, advised, and chaperoned by Berklee faculty, counselors, and proctors. Lunch will be provided each day (at no extra charge) in the Berklee dining hall. Mid-morning snacks will also be provided. Group Lessons—Each day, on your chosen instrument, take group lessons with other students who have similar ability. Mixed Ensembles—Perform with a group of students in your chosen style.

    Clinics—Attend clinics and master classes conducted by Berklee faculty and visiting artists. Creative Movement Class—Work on presentation, coordination, stage presence, posture, dance, expressive movement, and fitness for musicians. Performance Perspectives—Join our Five-Week Summer Performance Program students each week for this class, which features visiting artists performing and/or discussing their careers. Past visiting artists have included Wyclef Jean, the Bad Plus, Billy Bragg, Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Patty Larkin, John Blackwell, Lalah Hathaway, Christian McBride, John Scofield, and many others. Ensemble Performances—All ensembles will perform at week's end, in one of Berklee's performance venues. These performances are open to the public, and family and friends are encouraged to attend.
