Featuring 5 Great Bands! Sean Yox --The Streamers (New York) Kieran Ridge Band Grand Evolution Leon Rich Band Band Of Ragtag Rebels Agriculture is big business. But for the majority of farmers – especially small-scale, family farmers – the benefits are small. In developing countries, most farmers work modest plots of land, isolated from markets. The path from their farm to your table is long, with many middlemen along the way. That means little of the money you spend on food actually reaches the people growing it. At Equal Exchange, we’ve created a different path to the market – one that brings farmers closer to you, and delivers more of your dollars to their communities. We do this by partnering with small-scale farmer co-ops that are democratically organized, which means they make decisions on their terms. Through this model, we believe food can become a delicious and powerful tool for creating Big Change for small farmers, their families and communities.
http://www.equalexchange.coop/Performers: Sean Yox -The Streamers ( New York) Building a bridge between the New York garage punk of the '70s/'80s and the hip garage band scene of today, The Streamers rock out with all the abandon of the rock personalities of yesterday, while holding to the idealism and optimism of today's left leaning bands. The Streamers have an infectious enthusiastic approach to music that will have even the most cynical dancing around the room.... New York City 2008. What's the sound of the city, What's the sound of the future? Can we still recognize music and soul, Can we get out of numbers and feel the heart and feel the love and feel inspired and beleive in something real and honest. These are the subjects that Sean and the Streamers working on succesefully, and sending the message from New York city to the world. Sean recently toured Europe for 11 months and the band is getting out with new album.
http://www.myspace.com/thestreamersKieran Ridge Band Kieran Ridge has often been referred to by reviewers as “one of the best up and coming singer-songwriter talents of our time.” Critics have consistently compared him to some of the greatest songwriters and performers who have ever lived, people like Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, and Bob Dylan. Kieran has written hundreds of songs. Songs about lovers and strangers, losers and winners, drifters and wanderers, outcasts and outsiders. Songs of good times, hard times, the road, and romance, sung and played with faith, love, passion, intensity and desperation. Whether as a solo, acoustic performer, leading a stripped down acoustic trio, or as lead singer of The Kieran Ridge Band, Kieran Ridge’s songs stand out as something truly authentic. The Kieran Ridge Band is a back to basics roots rock and roll band - mixing together the best elements of Blues, Classic Country, and Rock & Roll into their own unique style. Nowhere is this more evident than in their latest record, “Already Gone.” Glowing reviews have come from radio, magazine and various media outlets across the U.S. and Europe for The Kieran Ridge Band. Their music has been played on radio shows across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Recently several tracks have been featured on Freight Train Boogie, as well as getting regular play on Boston’s WUMB.As the U.K. magazine Zeitgeist writes: “Remember the name because Kieran Ridge should be around for the long haul.” http://thekieranridgeband.com/ Grand Evolution Grand Evolution seems to come screaming out of the 90s drenched in the memory of teen angst, but all grown up. Hailing from Uxbridge, this quartet’s fourth effort, All We Have Is Now, is filled with catchy pop tunes and laced with lyrics oozing heartbreak and anger. Reminiscent of the female-fronted bands of decades past, Grand Evolution puts a unique spin on an old classic ~ classic, that is, for those of us who grew into our musical selves in the 90s. At a time when pure rock music has faded into the background and been replaced with genres like pop-punk and screamo, Grand Evolution delivers a refreshing look back to a time when music was stripped, simple and wonderful.

Rich is a more-than-competant performer. Handling the guitar licks with outright ease, his playing has a laid-back feel, even though his songs never run short on rock & roll bite. Rich's set is like a quick jolt of adrenaline. Rich's harmonic nuggets will undoubtedly find appeal among lovers of quirkly pop."-- Music Connection 07/08
