Much of Barbara’s work begins in Connecticut’s state forests and nature preserves with her digital camera. Her finished work inhabits the expanding field between photography, printmaking, and digital media. Images are given form by attention to the tactile qualities of paper, encaustic and collage. She fuses a material sensibility with a love of nature to create mixed media works, capturing moments and details that are intimate and beautiful as well as fleeting and imperfect. Join the artist for a reception and a brief talk about her work beginning at 1:00pm.
