Mark your calendars for the opening night of the 2010 Elma Lewis Playhouse in the Park, the annual free summer concert series in Franklin Park! This year's evening performances will kick off with up-and-coming Boston jazz musician Elán Trotman. Born in Barbados, mentored by Arturo Tappin and educated at Berklee, Trotman draws inspiration from the Caribbean rhythms of his youth and legends such as Grover Washington Jr. to create an approach to jazz that is all his own. Bring your lawn chairs, your friends, and a picnic to enjoy this exciting free performance in Franklin Park! The Playhouse in the Park presents free concerts every Tuesday from July 13 to August 10 at 6 pm, as well as youth-oriented performances at 11 am.
