Experience the culture of the Gilded Age in an afternoon dance performance by The Allegro Dance Ensemble of the Hamilton-Wenham School of Dance at the Wenham Museum, 132 Main Street, Wenham, MA on Saturday, June 19th. Come dressed like a ballerina and delight in a performance of tutus and twirling as the dancers perform to 19th century classics. The dancers will be performing various pieces from the late 1800’s and integrating the exhibitions theme of Gilded Age Glamour: A Visit to the Dressmaker, while dancing in long tutus and long dresses. The pieces will include Strauss’ “Roses from the South” with choreography by instructor Carol Slate. Also on the program are several pieces by director, Katy Brunault: a Chopin Mazurka, a Viennese Waltz and a piece called “December Snow” set to music from Tchaikovsky’s “Seasons.” Featured performance includes a harp solo by Liesel DeFeo. There will be three opportunities to see the performance: at 1 pm, 1:45 pm and 2:30 pm. Come early and enjoy Gilded Age Glamour: A Visit to the Dressmaker exhibition. Free with museum admission.
