    COAST of HOPE bike ride

    COAST of HOPE Bike Ride: 8am, Saturday, June 19th: rain or shine. Routes include a metric century (100km/62mi) that goes through North Shore communities: Ipswich, South Hamilton, Topsfield, Byfield, West Newbury, Newburyport, and Rowley. It also features half-metric century (50km/31mi) and 10.5-mile family-distance routes. Cyclists can pre-register online at www.brighthappypower.org. Same-day registration opens 7:15am, and the event begins promptly at 8am. Non-refundable $35 event registration fee ($20 for students), and cyclists are asked to make tax-deductible donations or seek sponsors (suggested fundraising amount of $95/rider). All donations made by riders benefit children and families supported by Bright Happy Power. Event kicks off with annual paper crane drop with General Sutton ladder truck and ends with massages by Pax Massage and after-ride celebration hosted by Stone Soup with beer and soda by Mercury Brewing. Event organizers are also hosting a COASTAL KIDS RIDE: 8-10am, Saturday, June 19th, Ipswich High School campus featuring a trike & bike traffic safety and obstacle course run by the Ipswich Police department.
