June 30, 2010
The Celtic peoples (who historically populated most of Europe, most familiar now as those whose roots are in Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Brittany, Cornwall, Galicia, Isle of Man, Scotland, Wales; Padania and Portugal) are known worldwide as a music-loving, musically-vibrant culture. This illustrated performance/lecture will feature Celtic music, folklore, and history from the various main roots and branches of Celtic music. Through live performance of Celtic song and dance music, we'll explore the importance of seasonal ritual music in human history and culture.
