Add Review/Comment
One of the major figures of the so-called “New Taiwan Cinema” of the 1980s and 1990s, Hou Hsiao-hsien (b. 1947) is widely considered among the most important filmmakers active today. In anticipation of a larger retrospective of Hou’s work in 2011, the Harvard Film Archive presents a special screening of one of the director’s most acclaimed films.
