Take a Hike! A Guided Tour Through 'The Fells'

For those of you that thirst for adventure or want a retreat from the city-grind, join the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) at the Middlesex Fells Reservation for their “Take a Hike! A Guided Hike Through ‘The Fells’” tour. Located just outside Boston, The Fells has miles of trails ideal for taking in a bit of nature! Enjoy a 3-4 mile hike complete with photo ops at Wrights Tower and Bear Hill Tower, both offering panoramic views of the Boston skyline. The trails also lead to beautiful reservoirs, Bellevue Pond, Spot Pond and the famous Virginia Wood. Come and discover this and all of the reservations’ other treasures! The hike takes place on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 10AM-1PM, yet the fun doesn’t stop there. Join the rest of your fellow hikers for free appetizers at Redbones Restaurant at 55 Chester Street in Somerville after you’re done enjoying the sights. WHERE: Meet Tim Post and the rest of your tour group at the Fells Main Entrance located at the beginning of South Border Road in Medford. WHEN: Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM COST: $25.00 per person. ADDITIONAL: Students should come wearing comfortable clothing and sturdy sneakers or hiking boots. In addition, water, a snack and bug spray is strongly recommended. Be prepared for exercise intervals of 20-30 minutes each. RSVP: Registration is necessary.
