Highfield Hall: Peter Hatch, Director of Gardens and Grounds, Monticello Peter Hatch has been responsible for the maintenance, interpretation and restoration of the 2400 acre landscape at Monticello since 1977. He comes to Falmouth as part of Highfield Hall’s “Glories of the Garden” celebration in support of the landscape restoration taking place at the mansion. He’ll talk about the themes that defined Jefferson’s revolutionary gardens at Monticello, trace the restoration of the gardens over the last 60 years, and discuss the evolution of fruits, flowers, and vegetables in American gardens.
