Currently Sister Joan serves as co-chair of the Global Peace Initiative of Women, a partner organization of the U.N., facilitating a wordwide network of women peace builders. In December of 2009, she spoke at the Parliament of World Religions in Melbourne, Australia and appeared with the Dali Lama at the First Emory University Summit of Religion, Conflict and Peace building.
