December 11, 2010
Add Review/Comment
The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP) will be in residence at Wellesley College for the 2010–11 academic year. BMOP is dedicated to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music. Throughout the year, musicians of this “premier” orchestra will interact with music department student performers, composers and music historians, through master classes, ensemble coaching, and classroom visits. They will offer the College and the wider community three free public performances. BMOP’s December program will feature music by women composers—Chen Yi, Arlene Zallman, and Wellesley faculty Jenny Olivia Johnson, whose new work will be premiered.
