Ludford: Missa Regnum mundi / Aston: Gaude virgo mater Christi The newest installment in our series of music from the Peterhouse partbooks (c.1540), the most important source of English sacred polyphony from just before the Reformation, featuring the North American premiere of a mellifluous mass by Nicholas Ludford and a dramatic antiphon by Hugh Aston (recorded on our new CD).
