The Waterfront Performing Arts Series
Presented by Mayor's Office of Arts, Tourism and Special Events at Christopher Columbus Park
August 3 - August 24, 2010
Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s Office of Arts, Tourism & Special Events is happy to announce the eighth annual Waterfront Performing Arts Series. The series, sponsored by the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, takes place on Tuesday evenings, 6 – 8 pm, from August 3rd to August 24th at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park. This year’s program features a mix of artistic genres including opera, American standards, jazz, Celtic music and a theatrical performance. This summer’s complete series includes, August 3: A North End Salute, featuring Lirica Italiana and Adam Herbert: An evening of classic arias, favorite Neapolitan songs, and a tribute to Frank Sinatra. August 10: Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles: A delightful meld of the high-lonesome vibe of classic country with the hardscrabble attitude of old-school alt-rock. August 17: A Celtic Night with Laura Cortese: Welding the propulsive grace of ancient fiddle styles to disarmingly open-hearted original pop songs August 24: Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged): A bawdy parody of the plays written by William Shakespeare with all of them being performed (in shortened form) during the show by only three actors.
