WORKSHOPS

Fiction Workshop: Learning from the Masters
September 23-December 9, 2010
Add Review/Comment
10 session non-credit workshop at Emerson College Professional Studies (starting Sept.23) This craft-intensive workshop is for people who want to think like a writer thinks—considering both inspiration and technique. Long before creative writing programs existed, writers learned simply by reading. Aspiring authors studied the work of writers they admired, learning to emulate them, to expand on them, or even to undercut them. In this course, we’ll get back to the spirit of that process, providing in-depth discussion of participants’ stories or novel chapters alongside craft-based analysis of great literature--both past and present. Registration Information: Fall 2010 schedule: Thursdays, September 23 and 30; October 7, 14, 21, and 28; November 4 and 18; December 2 and 9. 6:30–9:00 pm. Tuition is $595. To register, call Emerson’s Professional Studies at: 617.824.8280 See more about Emerson College Professional studies here: http://www.emerson.edu/academics/professional-studies And if you’d like more details on the class, or a syllabus, you can contact the instructor at cam.terwilliger@gmail.com.
