Take a culinary wine tour around the world with the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro’s Wine & Dine Mondays series. The series is designed to both educate and entertain. Aimed at oenophiles of all levels, “Wine & Dine Mondays are about wonderful wines, creative food and friendship,” said Cecilia Rait, Proprietress and resident Wine Director of the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro. Diners’ are invited to visit various wine regions without leaving the comfort of their seats, as Cecilia and Tracy Burgis of M.S. Walker act as virtual tour guides moving from region to region and explaining the complexities of each selection. Each of the eight events will be held on the second and fourth Monday of every month beginning on September 29th, 2010 and ending on December 6th, 2010. As the series spans the globe from our very own vineyards here in the U.S., to various locals such as Spain and France, the series is of course not simply about the wine; but, also the wonderful food. Each four-course dinner showcases regional fare as well the culinary artistry of the new Chef of the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro, Executive Chef Matthew Molloy previously of Lumiere whose selections will accent each featured wine. This intimate adventure is set in communal seating to encourage conversation and for the price of $55.00 per person (tax and gratuity not included), guests are treated to the full four-course dinner including the various wines to accompany their dining and educational experience. Wine & Dine Mondays Schedule Summer's last days in the Loire September 20th, 2010 7:00PM We will travel along the Loire River to sample some our favorite late summer wines and pretend that Autumn is just a beautiful mirage redolent of one big Indian Summer. Oregon -- An Evening with Cooper Mountain October 4th, 2010 7:00PM Barbara Gross from Cooper Mountain will bring us an Oregon family reunion -- wine family, that is. We will meet members of the Pinot family. Bordeaux October 18th, 2010 7:00PM During this dinner, we will taste some classic Bordeaux from both banks. Home of grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Bordeaux is synonymous with the past and future of wine. Four corners of France November 1st, 2010 7:00PM Let's take a trip through some of the most beautiful countryside of France, starting at the northwestern tip of the Loire and ending in the southwest, in Roussillon. In the Foothills of the Pyrenees November 15th, 2010 7:00PM Two of our favorite areas in the Pyrenees when it comes to wine (and touring) are the Languedoc-Roussillon (on the French side) and Cataluna (on the Spanish side). Join us for a flavorful trilingual journey. Rhone Grapes around the World December 6thh, 2010 7:00PM Identified closely with the Rhone Valley, these grapes have spread all over the world and thrive in many different regions.
