His name is Bud, not Buddy. “A bud is a flower to be. Waiting for just the right care and warmth to open up. It’s a little fist of love waiting to unfold and be seen by the wild,” says Bud’s mother. BUD, NOT BUDDY was adapted for the stage by Reginald Andre Jackson from the book of the same name by author Christopher Paul Curtis. It is the story of Bud Caldwell’s journey across several state lines in search of his father. Moved to a foster home after his mother’s death, Bud escapes, meeting a variety of characters along the way and discovering more about himself. This heartwarming play, directed by Bob Colby, will leave you captivated by Bud’s story.
