Island Moving Co. of Newport, RI reprises Dracula at Belcourt Castle for the third and final time October 20-24th, 2010. A dangerously close dance...based loosely on the Bram Stoker original. It is a remarkable piece of theatre filled with mystery and drama that marries movement and music, plot and place as the musicians, dancers and guests move from room to eerie room as the story unfolds.

I had no clue what to expect when my friend suggested seeing Dracula at Belcourt Castle. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. This is undeniably THE MOST ENJOYABLE PERFORMANCE I HAVE SEEN IN MANY, MANY MOONS! I cannot rave about it enough, truly! GO, GO, GO - if you can! (And no, I am not being paid and have NO connection to anyone involved - this is 100% genuine audience feedback, given because I was SOOOOOOOOOO impressed and enjoyed myself SOOOOOOOO much!) The experience is unparalleled. You're there - right up close - so you see every sinewy, sculpted muscle and every communicative facial expression. You feel literally part of the action as the dancers beckon you to follow them room-to-room. And what rooms they are! GOTHIC PERFECTION for this production! LOVED the percussion. LOVED the choreography. LOVED the talent on display. LOVED the aerial Cirque-du-Soleil-like (think Pink) acrobatics in the bedroom scene! WOW. WOW. WOW. And how!!!! Collapse
