“AIDS, Social Justice, and the Politics of Transformation” w/ Kevin Cranston (Bureau of Infectious Diseases), Dazon Dixon Diallo (SisterLove), Julie Davids (CHAMP), Guillermo Chacon (Latino AIDS Commission); moderator Rebecca Haag (AIDS Action) Thursday, September 30, 6:30-8 pm Old South Meeting House As death from AIDS less common and management of HIV infection is more prevalent, AIDS service organizations are transforming services and prevention programs. Yet despite their efforts, statistics on HIV transmission show that this disease still continues to spread. Imperative in stopping AIDS is addressing the social injustices that drive it: racism, sexism, homophobia, violence, substance abuse, and poverty. - Presented in collaboration with Old South Meeting House -
