“An Extraordinary Upbringing” w/ Condoleezza Rice; moderator; Maria Stephanos Thursday, October 28, 7pm-8:30pm [includes book signing] C. Walsh Theatre, Suffolk University Condoleezza Rice, diplomat, political scientist, Stanford University provost, professor, fellow, and concert pianist. Her achievements run the gamut from Soviet and East European Affairs Advisor to President George H. Bush during the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the collapse of Communism in Europe, to working to protect the country in the aftermath of 9/11. For the first time, Rice shares the story of how her parents shaped the life of the second woman in our nation’s history - and the first black woman – to serve as Secretary of State. Her story, Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family, is on of overcoming the obstacles of race and gender, coming up through the ranks of academia, and a heady rise into the world of global politics. Rice joins Fox25 News anchor Maria Stephanos to share the little know details of what has contributed to her continuing success.
