Her achievements run the gamut from Soviet and East European Affairs Advisor to President George H. Bush during the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the collapse of Communism in Europe, to working to protect the country in the aftermath of 9/11. For the first time, Rice shares the story of how her parents shaped the life of the second woman in our nation’s history - and the first black woman – to serve as Secretary of State.
