With Elements of Passion, experience three mesmerizing stories of desire, passion and frenzy in three of Mateo’s most intimate and emotionally charged works. Elements of Passion features "Schubert Adagio," set to Franz Schubert’s "Quintet in C," hailed as a favorite by audiences and critics alike since its premiere in 1991. "Bach Concerto" (premiered in 2003), set to Bach’s "Concerto in C Minor", is a celebration of the master composer’s spirited keyboard concerto. "Time Beyond Time" (premiered in 2005), set to French composer Oliver Messiaen’s Quartet for the "End of Time", places a special focus on time itself. Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre’s Elements of Passion offers Boston audiences the only opportunity to see new classical ballet. Each work is customized for the company’s glorious 5,000 square foot Sanctuary Theatre in Harvard Square for an intimate experience unlike any other in dance performance.
