This ballet thriller is a haunting tale about love and deception amidst the hysteria of a witch hunt. Streams (premiered in 2009), set to Terry Riley’s The Cusp of Magic for String Quartet and Pipa, explores the dynamic tensions between partners in various complex relationships. The concert concludes with a Mateo world premiere. Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre’s Realm of Suspense offers Boston audiences the only opportunity to see new classical ballet. Each work is customized for the company’s glorious 5,000 square foot Sanctuary Theatre in Harvard Square for an intimate experience unlike any other in dance performance.
