Music by Samuel Barber; Libretto by Gian Carlo Menotti; William Lumpkin, conductor; Lauren Flanigan, soprano. In celebration of Samuel Barber’s centennial, this concert performance of the poignant Pulitzer Prize winning opera "Vanesssa" spotlights Lauren Flanigan, Boston University alumna and internationally acclaimed artist, in the title role. She is joined by soloists from the School of Music Vocal Performance Department and Opera Institute, and the Boston University Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Chorus.
