Yerma An unpublished opera by Paul Bowles after the play by Federico Garcia Lorca; Bill Lumpkin, Allison Voth, Jeffrey Stevens, music directors; David Gately, guest stage director. "Yerma" tells the tragic story of a Spanish woman victimized by societal pressure to bear a child. Yerma’s anguish over her inability to conceive leads her on a dark path of obsession, with dire consequences. Yerma is part of Boston University's 14th annual Fringe Festival and runs October 16-23.
