SPOTLIGHT! Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre
April 3, 2011
Pieces for voices, harpsichord, and continuo by Louis XVI's incredible court composer, together with a surprisingly wonderful cantata for soloists, chorus and small orchestra entitled "Le Concert" by a mysterious Mlle. Laurant, unearthed and transcribed by our own Hendrik Broekman, and a wonderful Boston premiere by Cambridge composer Dorothy Crawford on the papers of America's first poet, Anne Bradstreet.
