In honor of composer Robert Schumann's 200th anniversary, An Evening of Masterpieces will include Schumann’s song cycle Liederkreis, Op. 39, for tenor and piano; and, for piano, Carnaval, Op. 9; and Chopin’s Ballade No. 3 in A Flat Major, Op. 47 (hailed by Schumann as among Chopin’s most original creations). Performances will be by Stanley Wilson, tenor; and Yoko Hagino and Malcolm Halliday, piano.
