  This was just right for bringing the kids. The actors and scenery were excellent. The venue was not too huge. The kids were thrilled by the set of walls which raised up to reveal the upstairs bedroom.... Expand

The kids were thrilled by the set of walls which raised up to reveal the upstairs bedroom. For me, I found the hand signing actors and light up board at times distracting, and other times helpful in deciphering what some of the actors were saying. Collapse

  This was a reasonably well done play, but the story has been very over simplified and much of the magic of the original story is lost. The first act is a bit dull, the second more fun and engaging. I found the fact that there are not only two message boards flashing every line on either side of the stage distracting, but that the signers are actually on the stage, often standing right in the middle of the action, and often obscuring the view of the actors really intolerable.This was poor judgment on the part of the director to allow the signers to interfere with the rhythm and feel of the play. Many times the signers are just off the stage discreetly on the side: in this case the signers were really acting themselves and were very distracting and unfairly competed with the actors in the play. Rethink this, please for the sake of the performers! Collapse
