(ahts): The Boston Arts Festival features the best of the Boston Arts Scene- both visual and performance. Based in the idyllic Christopher Columbus Park on Boston’s waterfront, the festival features over 70 juried artists and a performance program on 2 stages showcasing Boston’s best performing arts groups and performers. There will also be art demonstrations and family activities with staff from the MFA, the Mayor's Mural Crew, Diablo glass and 7 other arts groups. Air Traffic Controller and Mean Creek (which won the 2010 Boston Phoenix's Best Music Poll Best Music Act in Boston) will kick off the Arts Festival performance schedule Friday night at 5:45pm. The Boston Ballet, Zili Misik, City Stage Company, BalletRox and countless others will be performing throughout the weekend.
