In symphony tradition, waltz into the New Year accompanied by the bright, lively music of Johann Strauss and contemporary composers. Be swept away to the 19th-century splendor of the Viennese ballroom with Strauss’ Die Fledermaus Overture, “On the Beautiful Blue Danube,” and the Radetzsky March. Be delighted by selections from Franz Lehar’s The Merry Widow, Richard Rodgers’ The Sound of Music, and Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story including “Maria”. Talented theater co-stars, soprano Megan Weston and tenor Benjamin Robinson, bring a touch of elegance and sparkle with their brilliant performances.

"Megan Weston evidences a voice with dramatic power and suppleness.”

The recent concert performances of accomplished opera singer, soprano Megan Weston, include Messiah with the Bach Collegium San Diego and Orchestra Nova, Brahms’ Ein deutches Requiem with Seattle’s Cascadian Chorale, and the Verdi Requiem with the Long Island Choral Society.

“Robinson displays a lyric tenor that easily soars to the heights demanded by the score.”

Theatre and concert stage artist Benjamin Robinson has been featured as tenor soloist in Carmina Burana and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle with the University of Houston, Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes with the Houston Ballet II, and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and B Minor Mass with the Christ Church Grosse Pointe in Michigan.

Lovely soprano Megan Weston who garnered standing ovations at our Holiday Pops last season takes center stage to captivate us again with her dramatic and powerful voice. Her recent concert performances include Messiah with the Bach Collegium and the Verdi Requiem with the Long Island Choral Society.

Rising tenor Benjamin Robertson is enjoying a nationally heralded career, singing everything from Gilbert and Sullivan to Puccini. He makes his CCSO debut with Ms. Weston with whom he recently co-starred with in The Pirates of Penzance with Lyric Opera San Diego.
