The Cambridge Artists' Cooperative Gallery will celebrate its grand reopening with a free “Meet the Artists” party on Thursday, September 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 59A Church Street in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. Guests can meet current artists and browse two floors of work by more than 180 American artisans working in an array of hand crafted media that includes jewelry, ceramics as well as wearable and decorative fiber. The event will also showcase new artists among them; Michael Smith, who creates shibori clothing using non-traditional techniques; Devaney Bennett, a jeweler working in silver; and glass artist Dvora Silberman. Entertainment includes live cello music and light refreshments will be served.
This past spring the gallery closed for several months due to flood damage and is ready to show off and celebrate its newly renovated space. Established in 1988, the Cambridge Artists Cooperative Gallery (CAC Gallery) is a year round artist owned and managed crafts cooperative in the Boston-Cambridge area. In 2000, the Gallery received the Prestigious "Niche" Award as top ten crafts retailer in the country.
