Antonín Dvorak's Mass in D Major / Leos Janácek's "Our Father"
November 7, 2010
Under the leadership of Music Director Betsy Burleigh, Chorus pro Musica begins its 62nd concert season on Sunday, November 7, 2010 with works by two modern Bohemian masters, Antonin Dvorák and Leoš Janácek. While world famous for his large-scale choral works, Dvorák wrote his Mass in D on a more intimate scale, scored for four soloists, choir and a simple but ingenious organ accompaniment. Composed in 1901, Leoš Janácek's "Our Father (Otre náš)" is one of his great religious compositions, and is scored for organ, harp, chorus and tenor solo.
