The Concord Band, a 65-member symphonic concert band based in Concord, MA, presents its Fall Concert, "Scenes", on Sat., Oct. 23, 8 PM, at The Performing Arts Center, "51 Walden", in Concord Center. Music Director James O'Dell has chosen a program of concert band music by Dello Joio, Bernstein, Persichetti, Moussorsky, Lewis Buckley, Pierre Leemans, and Sousa. Call the Band hotline for tickets (978-897-9969); tickets also available at door. The Concord Band is considered one of the finest community concert bands in New England. It is comprised of musicians from 40 Boston-area towns and plays both formal and Pops-style concerts year-round, at its permanent home, "51 Walden" in Concord, MA, and at its summer home, Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA. The Band is nationally known for its commissioning of new works for concert band and for the quality of its programming, guest soloists and guest conductors.
