The Symphony commissioned Pulitzer Prize winning composer Yehudi Wyner to revisit his youthful piece “Fragments from Antiquity” and create a new work for soprano and full orchestra; the resulting work receives its world premiere at this concert. Dominique Labelle, described by The Washington Post as having “an astounding voice, one of impassioned resonance and incredible skill,” is the featured soloist.
