Belle & Sebastian with special guest Dean Wareham Plays Galaxie 500
October 15, 2010
After a period of hiatus, indie darlings Belle & Sebastian are back—putting the finishing touches on a new album and embarking on their first American tour in four years. The band, which formed in Glasgow in January 1996, is often compared to influential bands such as The Smiths, as well as such legends as Love, Bob Dylan and Nick Drake.
While word on the new album remains hushed, loyal fans wait with bated breath for their first full-length, non-compilation album since 2006. Their most recent album, The Life Pursuit, became the band's highest charting release to date and was praised by critics, including influential UK online music zine Drowned in Sound, who picked the album as one of their Top 10 Best Albums of the Year. Belle & Sebastian will celebrate their return to the studio with a select handful of tour dates, including their first ever appearances in Mexico and Singapore. Additionally, the group is busy curating Bowlie 2 — the follow-up to the ATP Presented Bowlie Weekender in 1999. This one-night-only opportunity to see the legendary performers at the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre is not to be missed!
