    Island Moving Company presents its “Newport Nutcracker at Rosecliff.” The classically contemporary ballet troupe presents 14 performances of the Christmas classic in the Bellevue Avenue mansion, Friday November 26th through December 3rd. It’s a popular production that will most certainly sellout.

    Instead of portraying an old, grand mansion on a stage, Island Moving Co uses an old grand mansion as a stage: Rosecliff. The setting is stunning.

    And instead of a usual production where you watch “The Nutcracker” story arise from a family’s party, audience members are part of the family’s party, invited guests in their home. The Providence Journal’s review, called it a “cozy, charming and intimate production.”

    The show is standing-room only, with seats offered just for the final scene. Audience members, a maximum of 100 per show, follow dancers from room to room.
