Directed by Ellie Heyman and Jason King Jones. When Williams read "Spring Storm" aloud to his college classmates in 1938, he was met with silence. The play's sexual explicitness was at once shocking and politically radical. In 1996, the play was met with a wave of excitement upon its rediscovery. Spring Storm depicts the intertwined lives of four young people - the sexually alive Heavenly, her earthy lover Dick, Heavenly's tongue-tied admirer Arthur, and the repressed librarian, Hertha, who loves Arthur – all archetypes of characters that audiences have met again and again in the Williams canon.
