Navarasa Dance Theater is pleased to announce a performance evening at the Wellesley College to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. November 4th, 7pm, Houghton Chapel, Wellesley College Free and open to public The evening has two parts: Part one explores different encounters in contemporary human life: encounter of the human soul with the divine, encounter with self, encounter with lover and encounter with gravity. The second half has selections from Navarasa Dance Theater’s acclaimed dance theater work A Story and A Song. Based on folk tales from South India and Native American traditions, A Story and A Song takes the audience to a world of beauty and images. The show is conceived by Aparna Sindhoor and S. M. Raju, Choreographed by Aparna Sindhoor and Anil Natyaveda, Directed by Aparna Sindhoor and performed by a multi-cultural cast of Navarasa Dance Theater artists that come from India, Boston and Singapore. Performers include: Aparna Sindhoor, Anil Natyaveda, Smitha Radhakrishnan, Rajesh Raveendran, Raghu Narayanan, Vyvyane Loh and Jill Cunningham. Music scores by Isaac Thomas and Prasanna.
