Leo Blanco World Jazz Ensemble & C4 Trio at the Beehive
November 11 - November 12, 2010
On Thursday, November 11th, 2010, internationally acclaimed groups, Leo Blanco World Jazz Ensemble and C4 Trio will take a break from captivating the world to share their rhythms with The Beehive. True citizens of the world, this is truly an inspired event, as both bands hail from Venezuela, making their folklore elements one in a million! Leo Blanco and C4 Trio are the perfect double bill for intense artistic activity!
Leo Blanco, a Venezuelan pianist and Berklee College of Music graduate and professor, is a master of virtuosic solos and improvisation. His melodies, rhythms and counter-rhythms explode with creative impulses that feature Peruvian elements and African rhythms.
For one night only, The C4 Trio will join Leo Blanco with their creative “solos in cuatro” for a night of genius collaboration. The group of four musicians will add the “cuatro,” a traditional Venezuelan guitar, to incorporate custom into Leo’s eclectic jazz sounds. Composed of Jorge Glem, Edward Ramirez, Hector Molina and Rodner Padilla, the group performs in solos but emerge spontaneously to perform in duos, then trios and finally a quartet. Don’t miss the genesis of this talented ensemble!
