Boston Debut
“ Spell-binding . . . The kora picks out sweetly dreamy, delicate melodies, while the cello’s sinuous flow is a masterclass in beautiful restraint . . . The result, imbued with a meditative serenity, is magnificent.” —Mondomix
One of the foremost kora players of the new generation, Mali’s Ballaké Sissoko has played with the likes of Taj Mahal and has recorded with Toumani Diabaté. French cello player Vincent Segal, best known for his work with Bumcello, has also worked with a wide range of artists, from Cesaria Evora to Marianne Faithfull via French pop star M. Together, these two innovators weave magical interplays filled with elaborate flourishes, delicate melodies and sublime rhythms.
