For more than 40 years, the Residents have purposely remained a riddle, willfully shrouded in mystery and myth. Performing in disguise—usually tuxedos, top hats and giant eyeball masks— the band channels the breadth of American music into its idiosyncratic, satiric vision, continuing to expand the boundaries of theatrical performance and multimedia interaction.
