    Lecture with photographer Dick Simon

    January 9, 2011 Dick Simon
    3:00 PM - 4:15 PM
    Faces of Syria
Mark Twain said “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and
narrow-mindedness.” With the aim of better understanding the human
story behind how Syria is portrayed in the news, Simon and his family
traveled there. What they experienced led them to embrace Twain’s
prophetic words. The Syria they saw was not a harsh land with a
hostile populace but a beautiful country with wonderful people. They
met people who welcomed them with humanity and warmth. Simon’s
hope is that his images will open hearts and minds to an amazing country.
Admission is FREE and open to all. Sponsored in part by New Horizons.
RSVP by January 7th to the Griffin.
