Take a closer look at belly dance performance in this class designed for students with a background in exercise or general dance. You will be swiftly guided from the basics of belly dance to the skills practiced in traditional and current modifications of the dance. You will learn to use traditional props (such as zills, veils, canes, plates, and jugs), recognize Middle Eastern musical rhythms, and will learn basic choreographic combinations and the essentials of standard belly dance performance.
