Presented by at Cutler Majestic Theatre

    February 25 - March 1, 2011

A modernist psychological thriller set in during a time of decadence and unsolved murders, Paul Hindemith's CARDILLAC is based on a tale by ETA Hoffmann. Cardillac is an artist--a goldsmith--whose works are in demand by the wealthy and fashionable. The nobility's desire to possess Cardillac's work is no match for his obsessive need to be reunited with his treasured creations; he will go to any length to get them back. Sanford Sylvan brings his "creamy baritone" and "formidable dramatic presence" (Opera) to this suspenseful and unsettling drama.

Sol Kim Bentley, Steven Sanders, and Janna Baty also star.
