    Acclaimed author Alice Hoffman discusses her newest book, The Red Garden, with Emmy Award winning arts and entertainment critic Joyce Kulhawik at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton on Tuesday, January 25 at 7pm. Hoffman is the bestselling author of 25 acclaimed novels, including The Third Angel, The Ice Queen, Practical Magic and Here on Earth - an Oprah Book Club selection. The Red Garden introduces readers to the haunting world of Blackwell, Massachusetts, as it captures the town’s unexpected turns during 300 years of history. The Red Garden is a transforming glimpse into small-town America.
    Joyce Kulhawik is best known as the former arts and entertainment critic for WBZ-TV. She currently lends her expertise as an arts advocate and cancer crusader throughout the Boston region.

    The event, which is co-sponsored by the Book Club Cookbook, is part of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Boston Jewish Book Fair Distinguished Authors Series. Cost: $12. The JCC is located at 333 Nahanton Street (Newton Center).
