Add Review/Comment
Directed by Herbert J. Biberman during the height of the McCarthy era, and denounced as subversive on its release, Salt of the Earth chronicles a labor strike by Mexican-American and Anglo miners in New Mexico.
Open to the public and organized in conjunction with Santos y Pecadores and ArtH 338, Imagining Mexico and the Border in Film, this “open class” series is co-sponsored by the Davis and the Art Department. Each evening features an informative introduction, a film screening, and a lively discussion.
