2011 Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival

Looking for a film festival in the northeast to escape to in September, the most beautiful time of the year, then look no further as the natural wonder of Martha's Vineyard will be on display again at this year's Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival running from September 8th through the 11th. The MVIFF is about exploring other cultures/people of the world and is owned and produced by the Martha's Vineyard Film Society, a 501 c3 non-profit corporation. There are several programs that will be part of the festival this year, including the International Jury Competition in which 10 films will be selected from worldwide entries and screened at 2011 MVIFF short film showcase. Jury members will select winning films for a cash prize and presentation at the Closing Night program on Sunday, September 11th. The festival is currently accepting submissions of short films with fiction, live action, animation, and documentary shorts all welcome. Advance festival passes are now available online as well, with the film schedule to be released sometime around mid July, which will be brought to you in this space as well. The All-Access Festival Pass is really a great deal compared to some of the other festivals I have covered of comparable size with a price tag of $180 per person or $150 per person with the discount for film society members (Martha's Vineyard Film Society). With this pass, festival goers receive admission to any films (pass holder must pre-select movie tickets at box office, and arrive 10 minutes before start time), admission to Opening Night, cocktails, premiere screening at Capawock Theatre, admission to Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening parties (excludes Reel Food event), as well as admission to any panel with the filmmakers and Meet The Filmmaker receptions. You can also get a One-Day Festival Pass for $50 per person with admission to any films for day of pass and admission to that evening's party (excludes Reel Food event).
