Family Day at MassArt

MassArt welcomes families and friends to join the festivities at Family Day in the Bakalar & Paine Galleries. Twice a year, Family Day brings together visitors of all ages to explore exhibitions in a fun, creative way. Admission is free and materials are provided, so attendees are encouraged to drop in at any time to enjoy art-making projects, guided conversations, interactive activities, and refreshments. The activity stations, designed and facilitated by MassArt students, are structured around two exhibitions that offer unique opportunities for conversation and learning. Inside the Painter’s Studio offers a unique glimpse into contemporary artistic practice through interviews with painters and Joe Fig’s miniature recreations of their studios, alongside artworks by these emerging and established artists. Artists in the exhibition astatic use animation as a tool in their contemporary art practice. A variety of animation styles are included, such as claymation, stop-motion, animated paintings, and digital animation.
